The eucalyptus tree is an evergreen tree native to Australia. The essential oil is extracted from eucalyptus leaves that have powerful therapeutic properties. Here are the top uses and benefits of this essential oil.

1. Helps to cool and soothe

This is a great essential oil to help support feelings of clear breathing and open airways. You can diffuse or dilute and apply it topically to the chest and breathe deeply for an invigorating vapor. It also is ideal for creating a soothing massage experience.

To make a homemade vapor rub you can mix 3-5 drops with equal parts peppermint oil and coconut oil.

2. Helps to support energy

Eucalyptus is a great essential oil to invigorate and add vitality. You can diffuse throughout your home or at work, place a few drops in the bottom of the shower, or rub a few drops on your temples and neck.

Another great way to use it is by adding 10-15 drops into laundry detergent and toilet cleaners.

5. Beneficial for the skin

It has purifying properties that can be beneficial for the skin. You can add one drop of this essential oil to moisturizer and apply it to the skin for revitalizing benefits.

6. Promotes feelings of relaxation

Eucalyptus helps to lessen feelings of tension and promotes feelings of relaxation. It helps to promote an uplifted mood. You can diffuse it or roll it on your temples, wrists, or back of the neck.

7. Helps to freshen breath

Eucalyptus is found in mouth rinses and oral hygiene products that help to freshen breath.

There are some safety precautions to remember when using Eucalyptus essential oil. People with sensitive skin should make sure they dilute eucalyptus oil before using topically. Also, make sure to always dilute with children, and do not apply near the face of young children. Avoid using this essential oil during pregnancy.
