5 Easy Steps to Make 2017 Great!

There are 5 easy ways to make 2017 great. I can’t believe it is already 2017 since it seems like the years fly by faster the older you get. There are certain steps we can take throughout our year to make it great, and I wanted to share those with you today!

5 Steps for Making 2017 Great

  1. Pray Daily-

I am constantly being reminded about the power of prayer!  I notice a difference in my stress level when I find myself not praying as much.

Give God your worries, cares, dreams, hopes, and insecurities.  Pray about them, and I promise you that you will start to see God working in your life.  If you truly want to have a great 2017, then this is your first step!

  2. Make a Plan and Work the Plan-

If you have dreams and goals for the new year, how are you going to accomplish those goals without a plan?  It is so easy to get swept away in all the other things going on in your life and forget the path you would like to go.

That is why it is so important to WRITE out your goals. Then, list the steps that you need to take to get there. Post them somewhere you can see them everyday.

Great ideas would be your bathroom mirror, post it notes on your fridge, stuck to your computer, or on your daily calendar. It is so important to be reviewing these throughout the year, and to adjust as needed.

  3. Get Accountability-

Everyone needs someone to help hold them accountable. If you are the only one who knows you are working on something, then it is easy to fall behind and not catch up.

If no one knows about it how can they help you?  If you find someone to help your chances of succeeding are so much better! I have accountability partners for different areas of my life, and I don’t know what I would do without them. They inspire me daily.

  4. Fail Forward-

If you haven’t failed already, then you will at some point. This is okay, and a normal part of growing! John C. Maxwell says in his book, “Failing Forward,” it is what you do with those failures that help define you.

He talks about a lot of successful people who have failed before they finally succeeded. It takes people a lot of tries sometimes, but it only takes one time to succeed. So keep trying!

What truly makes you a successful is turning your failures into wins.  Everything that happens in your life happens for a reason. I would highly encourage you to read this book if you haven’t already!

5. Believe in Yourself-

The mind is such a powerful thing. In order to succeed you need to know that YOU CAN DO IT!  Whatever goal you are striving for can be accomplished with enough hard work and perseverance.  Just because it doesn’t happen at first doesn’t mean it never will. Keep analyzing what is working, and keep making adjustments.

You are made for a purpose in this life, so keep praying, planning, and talking with a person you trust. Fail forward in order to succeed. Remember you are what you think about, so I would encourage you to think positively. You have to believe that you have what it takes to accomplish your goals.

We make decisions each day on how to spend our lives. I challenge you to live each day with a positive, selfless attitude, and know that God has big plans for you! So go out and start living your dreams!

I hope you have a positive start to the new year!  Let’s make 2017 great!

Until Next Time,

I love this post! I, too, have seen how much daily prayer changes a person. I think it makes us more humble, by openly (and daily) admitting that we are not in control. I also love the idea of failing forward. I hate failing, but it’s something I need to use to grow and learn from my mistakes. Thanks for this post, girl! ReplyCancel

    # 1 (pray daily) a million times! Giving God my day just sets it on the right path from the beginning. ReplyCancel

These are such great reminders! I have also found that when I write down my goals it helps me to keep myself more accountable for them. I will have to check that book out. ReplyCancel

I am not a religious person, so I believe more in meditation. Although prayer is some sort of meditation itself, I don’t like to ask God for things I can do/control myself, I would rather thank Him for what I already have.ReplyCancel

Your suggestion of writing things down to hold yourself accountable is a good one. I keep a daily to-do list but it never includes things like blog goals or products I plan to make. Maybe I need to start doing that!ReplyCancel
