A question I get asked a lot is how to use essential oils to create toxic-free and inexpensive products for your home. That is why I decided to share my DIY Toxic-Free Foaming Hand Soap Recipe! I have tried a lot of recipes, and I love this one the most by far! I hope you enjoy it as well.
There are so many harmful chemicals in most hand soaps. That is why it is so important to find a safer soap alternative and what better way to do that than to make it yourself!
You can use the Environmental Working Group to see how harmful certain hand soaps and beauty care products can be! It is so important to watch out for the toxic ingredients and stay away from them as much as you can.
In addition to these ingredients, you will need a tbsp in order to measure everything out correctly.
DIY Toxic-Free Foaming Hand Soap Recipe:
2 tbsp Pure Castile Soap
1 tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
10 drops of Essential Oils of your choice. I used peppermint in this demonstration, but some other great options are melaleuca, lemon, or lavender.
I like to add the Castile soap, fractionated coconut oil, and essential oils before adding the distilled water. Some people like adding the water first and then add in the other ingredients. See what works best for you, but make sure to leave room at the top so that the mixture doesn’t overflow when you put the cap on.
Let me know what you think!
